Four years ago I was like a recluse due to being overweight and resulting in poor health – Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease and Rheumatic Arthritis in both knees. I didn’t want to go out or see anyone, not even family and close friends. My only visitors were the District Nurses.
I tended to eat frozen dinners, crisps, lots of bread and take-aways.
When I looked in the mirror I was repulsed by what I saw. I remember my mother crying, saying she wanted her old daughter back, the slim, bubbly, always out walking and dancing daughter.
I had tried various diets over the years, but always seemed to put the weight back on, in fact, twice as much.
In May 2012 I decided to sort myself out and went along to Diet UK in Preston.
At first I was scared, but Dr Sindy Newman soon put me at ease. I started weekly visits and changed my eating habits with the doctor’s help and started exercising again, I found I was looking forward to going to the clinic to jump on the scales. Sometimes I didn’t lose pounds, but inches, I was happy.
I went out and bought a whole new wardrobe of clothes and even booked a holiday!
It was as if I had been given a new lease of life and I intend to enjoy every minute of it.
All thanks to Diet UK.
